With a stolen picture, Okamoto Jiro enrols his Hawaiian Chinese classmate Wu Ailing in a beauty pageant. Wu is crowned Miss Hawaii and has won a free trip to Tokyo and Hong Kong. Jiro entrusts Wu to the care of his elder brother Yuichi, who is stopping by in Hawaii on a business trip. Prior to her departure, Wu learns her identity as an adopted child from her foster parents, who urge her to meet her sister Liu Ailan and her arranged fiance Zheng Hao in Hong Kong. Wu arrives in Tokyo in Yuichi's company but their relationship soon turns sour. The quarrelsome Yuichi has in fact fallen in love for the beauty queen but is too proud to declare his affection. Upon their arrival in Hong Kong, Wu and Yuichi are received by Liu and Zheng, who are apparently romantically involved. Wu gives her blessing to the lovers, and declares her love for her travelling companion before embarking on her return journey to Hawaii.
