[SEFF] From the first scene, the protagonist is presented clearly. A rebellious young woman who wants to take charge of her life in the middle of a community whose machismo is subtle, but equally hurtful. But this is an unsubtle coming-of-age, full of clichés, so blatantly obvious that it is outrageous. It'#39;s so superficial that even the music in the masturbation scene seems to be taken from a bad porn movie.

As awkward and as uncomfortable as losing your virginity to someone with less experience and interest than you. Bringing the story of a young woman'#39;s sexual awakening to the big screen but also including cultural stereotypes and Algerian politics makes me think you don'#39;t really care enough about the young woman to tell her story.
