Woody Allen really is a fantastic writer and director, we all know that. He is always able to create amazing characters, fantastic dialogues, simple stories with situations that could happen and real life and none of his stories ever felt forced. All feel real and actually very believable. Hannah and Her Sisters is no exception. An amazing comedy/drama script, that tell us the stories of multiple characters all connected because of three sisters Hannah, Lee and Holly. Family interations, romances, dramatic discoveries or even hilarious moments it's what you are going to find throughout the story. All of the performances are absolutely fantastic, everyone is able to play their parts in the perfect way possible. Dianne Wiest, Woody Allen himself and Michael Caine are my favorite performances of the film. I really enjoyed Allen's hypochondriac character, he was very funny. Dianne Wiest and Michael Caine won an oscar for their performances in this film and both truly deserved it. Hannah and Her Sister is for sure one of Woody Allen's best films.

Allen has two major eras: comedy, and heavy drama. _Hannah and Her Sisters_ sits right in between. There is a disjointed element here that keeps this from being a better film, and it's where the movie deviates from Hannah, and her sisters, to Allen's side story. I'd say that entire B story could be cut, but it does wrap up by the end. Ultimately, I think the movie needed to focus more on the sisters or gear the story into the Allen, and Wiest characters coming together. Still a great offering from Woody. Not his best, but I enjoy this era of his work so much. It's no _Annie Hall_ (1977) or _Shadows and Fog_ (1992), but it's classic Allen. Totally a recommend for all fans of his work. If you're looking for a romantic drama with some light humor thrown in, this is going to work for you.

There’s something about Annie Hall that works so well for me, but every other Woody Allen movie has fallen flat. I need to flesh these thoughts out some time, but there’s something about his characters which makes them so unlikeable and uninteresting. But the problem I think is that the movie clearly finds them SO interesting that there’s a disconnect for me. I appreciated bits here and there, but Allen’s work may just not be for me.

[6.8/10] *Hannah and Her Sisters* is a sidewinding ramble of a film. It’s not so much a story as it is a series of interconnected, slice-of-life vignettes and interludes. The tethers between its various stories are frayed, and sometimes contrived. Despite a sense of realism in the presentation, th More

The funny thing about googling something like "best Woody Allen movies" is that there doesn't seem to be a general consensus as to what his best works might be and that order in which they should appear. For whatever reason, "Hannah and Her Sisters" had fallen down the order of o More
