Greatest Days

Again the format of the four ladies making various disasters, this time English and younger, but with the same episodes happening more or less.

I was expecting a formulaic, typically cliché movie about friends growing apart and reuniting, but this movie really surprised me. It was executed with care, confidence and just when I knew what would happen next it managed to tweak the formula enough that it still felt fresh. Excellent performances from everyone involved and I found it pretty moving towards the end and I shed a few tears. The musical numbers were great, the songs well chosen from the Take That catalog and the choreography was above average- especially the climax. I found the physicality and antics of 'The Boys' really enjoyable and amusing. The film isn't worried about breaking the fourth wall and uses the two time periods to great effect and I found the way they mixed them together at the end was really effective and affecting.
