This movie isn't a mockumentary of metal or metalheads, it's about a specific kind of Canadian guy who was common in the prairies during the 90s and 2000s. The strength and weakness of the movie is that it is so good at hitting its subculture that the appeal is lost on those less familiar with it. You can still find a handful of these guys stumbling around Calgary.

Black humor at its finest. Those that only see the surface are missing the spectacular undertones of a film that you do not see replicated at all in current film. After many years since my initial viewing this still delivers the goods.

Written by Michael Dowse and Paul Spence, who also played Dean in the film this film is a mockumentary about two slacker metalheads which nowadays and even twenty-years ago when this film was made, was a familiar idea.
