Brazil's political and social context in the 1990s was chaotic, and this serves as the starting point for the film. The melancholy tone of that period is reflected in the cinematography, which is beautiful in black and white, with striking images that are very well captured. The story has an interesting premise, but its development is uneven, depending on convenient situations to advance the plot. The performances are best given by the supporting cast, who are excellent and convincing. On the other hand, the protagonist delivers an average performance, often apathetic, failing to convey the necessary emotion. In addition, the audio capture and mix are unsatisfactory; the sound is muffled, making it difficult to understand the lines. The movie starts from a good idea, but its poor execution leaves the impression of being lost, when it could have been much more interesting and impactful.
