Has it's flaws but it's still enjoyable and comes together well in the end.

Giving it extra points for being a really good representation of crip/mad theories around mental illness - of how we should integrate "mad" people into our society rather than shun and isolate them. Rain gets to be fully human, gets to be loved even while suffering severe episodes, and isn't "cured" in the end but rather is better supported by those around her.

Caleb is autistically coded and is a good example of how often neurodivergent people are able to intuitively see, love, and support one another in ways that neurotyplicals struggle to - or simply won't. He wasn't scared of her, he believed her but asked responsible questions, and he just wanted to understand her condition so he could empathize with her and support her. ~I may have cried a little when he told her he loved her brain.~ Caleb represents how we could be as a society if we could stop demonizing and separating the mad.

The movie doesn't make her illness a magical power and it doesn't sugar coat how hard it can be at times. But it shows clearly that for her to be sent away would be the worst possible scenario for her.

Overall? That's pretty rad.
