So. Much. Blood.

One of the best remakes if you ask me! Probably an unpopular opinion but this is better than the 1981 original. Now, there's the obvious elephant in the room that this is a very expensive remake to a very low budget original and that creates a conflict as you should praise the one that was done with less money and revolutionary for it's time. It's not original by any means but let's be real, the execution is much better. It takes elements from both *The Evil Dead* and *Evil Dead II* a lot but still manages to create something different and fresh, adding lots of new lore and doing something completely different in the second half.

Obviously money helped in every department: Gallons of blood, loads of gore, practical effects that look amazing, brutal body horror and the makeup for the Deadites have never looked so good. Some intense and thrilling sequences and the tone is much darker and less comedic than the original. The one-liners are really nasty, caught me by surprise how rude they were it's really believable that it's coming from a demon. The book looks so creepy and detailed, I want one (for display, of course). The brother sister bond became annoying at some point and it made the brother look like an absolute idiot but if I were to rewatch it knowing how it ends it probably doesn't have the same effect. The characters are it's biggest flaw, even more so compared to the original. Nice twist I didn't see coming and the third act is all kinds of wild and epic.
