I laughed quite a lot.
This takes itself so goddamn seriously, it’s almost like it doesn’t know that it’s really fucking trashy.
How does a director look at this material and think: yeah, I can make a serious thriller out of this.
Besides being hilariously dumb, the dialogue and acting are truly on a whole other level.
If the director comes out and admits that they intentionally parodied Will Smith’s “what are we, some kind of Suicide Squad” line in this, I’ll change my score to a 10.

Until then: 2/10

Thank God for Zoey. She knows everything about anything, except for how to say the letter 'S'.
Not as good as the first but still mildly entertaining. Very funny how in movies nowadays the guys are all useless.

Finally a "horror" where I don't hate every single character. I quite liked all of them to be fair. But it's annoying that Zoe is the predestined hero and has to solve the difficult riddles.

Honestly the best thing they probably did with this is having two different cuts...
None of the rooms in the sequel felt particularly exciting with the beach one being especially terrible and the solutions were not very rewarding either (constantly running after single clues as a group or solving things randomly).
I saw people mentioning a better ensemble cast but honestly it was all very stiff and Zoey became ultimately annoying with her Mary Sue stick.
The backstory also didn't really make sense to me alongside a lot of contrived elements in the movie... I hope the next part puts more effort into the rooms/puzzles again.
Also did I miss something? Like... just... go under the taxi girls? Or how about you enter the code to get out of your own game? And if you forgot - the solution is still on the glass you know?
@sp1ti I was wondering why their shoes didn't melt - Hydrochloric Acid burns should burn right through most shoes and it should stay on the ground for a while as much as it poured.<br /> <br /> That would also be a reason not to go under the taxi - burns the skin right off :)<br /> <br /> ---<br /> Regarding the solution still on glass thing, yeah - I was wondering that also. Even if he built some measure in so that the code works only once - its unlikely that the protagonists knew when they threw him in.

AVOID! Movie ends on major cliff hanger with no plans for a sequel. Wasted my time watching and left utterly disappointed.

THIS MOVIE WAS GREAT,
VERY VERY ENJOYABLE AND TOTALLY ENTERTAINING.
I REALLY ENJOYED THE FIRST ONE AND THIS WAS EQUALLY AS GOOD IF NOT MORE SO. THEY REALLY TRIED TO STEP UP TO THE PLAY WITH THIS ONE AND MAKE IT BIGGER AND BETTER AND STEP OUT OF THE SHADOW OF NUMBER 1.
THIS IS NOT JUST A COPY AND PASTE AND FOR THAT I APPLAUD THEM.
KUDOS IF YOU WILL.
I JUST WATCHED THE EXTENDED CUT ON
BLU RAY AND I THOUGHT IT WAS AWESOME, SO FAST PACED AND NONE STOP THRILLS, I WAS PANICKING FOR THEM FROM START TO FINISH.
BRILLIANT AND NOW I DEFINITELY NEED A 3rd
INSTALLMENT WITH OUR TO MAIN LEADS.
GOD PLEASE LET THEIR BE A 3rd INSTALLMENT
BECAUSE THIS IS A LOVEY LITTLE FRANCHISE OUT OF NOWHERE & THESE 2 COULD CARRY IT FOR MORE THRILLING INSTALLMENTS
SO IT'S NOT
"GAME OVER"
FOR QUITE SOME TIME YET.
Just like number 1
This is a very strong
8/10

FINAL THOUGHT
SUPER ENTERTAINING
with a fantastic pace
All edge of your seat stuff.
Double thumbs up

The games continue in Escape Room: Tournament of Champions. Six survivors of previous Minos escape room games are brought together for another series of deadly games. Unfortunately none of the new characters seem like champions, never displaying the intelligence or skill of a gamesman. Nor do the games themselves seem all that clever or inventive. Although, some of this could be explained by the final reveal. Nevertheless, there’s still a fair amount of intrigue to the games and a couple of exciting action sequences. Plot issues aside, Escape Room: Tournament of Champions is a fairly entertaining film that delivers some good thrills.

Saw lite was okay. Some of the puzzles were pretty good, but I found the acting and dialogue to be sub par and often took me out of it. 5.4. Watch for the intense rooms if you like these types of flicks (I tend to) and try not to cringe too hard at the script.

So the freaking cheerleader (Ben) gets to survive again. Disappointing, I somehow hoped Rachel would survive, she was far more interesting than the "Believe in her / She saved me" triade from Ben...

---

Otherwise the movie was nearly completly centred around Zoey and very predictable

A sequel that keeps your attention as much as the first film. However, falls apart a bit in the end…just like the first film. Though you may be left wanting to see what happens next nevertheless.

What's with all these movies about being trapped, imprisoned, abducted, etc and having to escape and survive? Literally dozens at the moment, and the other thing they have in common-they are all utterly crap!

Catching fire tease, it didn't bring anything new to the table but at least the characters are more likable in this one. The ending was not it just like with the first one, are they really going to drag out the story?
Nothing made sense after they "got out” of the escape room and went to the police station. At least provide a little backstory as to why this person is doing what he's doing, it can't just be for people's entertainment...
Keeps the same quality and just as enjoyable as the first. The escape rooms were great and complex and so much action the movie goes by so fast! I would love it if they made more standout characters instead of putting the spotlight on the same character all the time and the movie does fall apart a little towards the end just like the first. Despite this i'm loving this new franchise and i'm looking forward to seeing more

These movies are a fun excuse to amp up some over the top tension and throw some characters into ridiculous puzzle rooms. Give Jigsaw infinite power and resources and tone down the gore and watch these characters frantically seek out clues before the lasers or acid rain fuck them up. One element I like about these movies is that for the most part the characters all work together and try to help each other rather than having the typical asshole, rich guy geek out and betray the rest. I think Taylor Russell and Logan Miller are likable leads and as I said before I welcome some more installments to see how these writers try to build their own continuity a la Saw
