**THE GOOD:**

Ashley Judd is pretty convincing in the lead and has plenty of opportunities to shine when it comes to emotional acting. Then she also shows a cold and ruthless aide and proves to be a formidable and clever action hero.

Seriously, though, I rarely enjoy female protagonists as much as I enjoy Libby here. She is clever, determined, charming, ruthless and easy to like.

On the other end of the spectrum, we have Bruce Greenwood, who goes from charming to downright eerily creepy. Meanwhile, poor Tommy Lee Jones is unusually helpless in a characteristically satisfying performance.

I gotta say, I truly enjoyed the action sequences, they are a lot of fun in all their simplicity.

----

**THE BAD:**

The film’s first act sets up the mystery around the framed murder, but then does nothing to maintain or further that to keep viewers engaged in Libby’s mission. We are given no further clues or puzzle pieces until the climax.

Some of the situations Libby finds herself in are resolved a bit too conveniently and the script does rake some logical shortcuts to create artificial tension.

----

**THE UGLY:**

I'm confused; is it supposed to be 1999 or 2005 after the six-year jump? Because it sure doesn’t feel like 2005!

----

**THE VERDICT:**

_A surprisingly enjoyable revenge thriller with a criminally good lead actress and plenty of fun-time action and suspense._
