Disturbia: The movie about nothing. Its weird how this is advertised as a horror flick (especially with the ominous poster) when 80% of the movie is dedicated to Shia Lebouf's character chilling at home, watching tv and flirting with his next door neighbor. If you enjoy "slice of life" teen movies then this is cool, but don't go into it expecting an actual story.

@adecool While I thought it was just average, I definitely agree that it took way too long to actually get to any horror-esque vibes making it feel like a direct to tv teen movie on nick at nite.

_Rear Window_ for horny teenagers. It’s pretty much the same type of dumb, faux edgy nonsense that makes a lot of teen movies from around this time unwatchable. Right from the start it gave me ‘schlocky January release’ vibes, especially when it comes to the directorial choices. It looks like a Hallmark movie and the use of score often reads as parody. On top of that it’s a really boring, stupid script. It doesn’t feel like more than a day of thought was put into it (clunky dialogue, it takes too long to introduce any conflict, no themes or arcs, no memorable scenes or set pieces, cliches and contrivances everywhere, etc.). In fact, it’s not really a thriller for the most part, it spends way more time on selling us this dull relationship between LaBoeuf and Roemer, which it can’t pull off due to a lack of chemistry and skill. If you’re one of those people who can fool themselves into pretending lowbrow garbage is meant to be camp, you might get some enjoyment once the thriller aspect comes in. Otherwise, there’s just nothing I can recommend about this to those who’ve outgrown the target demographic.

1/10

A sort of Hitchcock remake, but not that bad, modernized.

For a bunch of gamers playing the games they did, they’re pretty damn awful at stealth. Bunch of overexcited childish idiots that just annoyed and ruined the movie for me and make it so unrealistic. Shia has got to be one of the messiest teenager on the planet. Everything that touches his hands just flies. And really: murderer still walking about loose and you’re announcing your location every ten seconds? Did the writers intentionally made them the dumbest people on the planet, if that was the plan, mission success. I didn’t find this scary at all. Maybe it’s because I can’t relate to a paranoid US society…? I don’t know, couldn’t find a reason to like this movie.

A fun thriller with Shia Leboeuf in good form. As Kale who is on house arrest after punching a teacher. Due to boredom he starts spying on neighbors with binoculars. He soon starts to suspect his neighbor Robert (David Morse) is a killer.
No one believes him but his best friend Ronnie (Aaron Yoo) and cute girl next door Ashley (Sarah Roemer). Kale’s obsession with Robert puts them all in danger. Including Kale’s mom (Carrie-Anne Moss).
Spoiler: Though Robert deciding to go after Kale and his mom. After Kale called the cops on Robert fools them and they leave. Makes no sense. Since it only would make Robert guilty if Kale and his mom suddenly disappear.

Rear Window for Millennials. Alfred Hitchcock would have gagged at this.

@td127 True. But it's better than the Reeves remake, isn't it?

Rear Window for the youngsters? Overdoes the guy-girl thing too much for it to be classed as a "thriller".
