What strikes me is just how familiar this movie is. I could have sworn that I've watched a nearly identical one but with British actors. Anyways, Die Präsenz is, as you have probably guessed, every other found footage ghost movie you've ever seen. Some young fools go off into a supposedly haunted location for _reasons_ and find an actual ghost. Pretty woman has _moods_ and _episodes_, her boyfriend is unresponsive to her needs and his best friend - the third wheel - is an irritating jackass. There are sounds and aggressive yelling and people losing their cool, but they keep recording. You will find yourself asking, "Why is this thing?". The movie will just laugh at you in response. You are not here to have questions answered, but to witness the spooky.

The good news? Some of the scenes are actually spooky. The bad news? The number of actually spooky scenes is really low. The rest are marred by annoying cuts, absurdly loud sounds, or some lame attempt at jump scares. Shots are ruined by strange sound effects that ruin the suspension of disbelief that we are watching _found footage_ and not something that's been professionally edited. Other scenes have absolutely nothing to do with the story and those suck the worst. What little joy there was to be had in this movie are in some of the more violent effects and in one interesting scene where [spoiler]the ghost takes the camera out for a stroll and the footage moves around in unsettling and unnatural ways - neat![/spoiler].
