Any movie with 80s music and a cheese festival is ok in my book.
Love the villain, he brings awesome music :P
Another brilliant instalment for this franchise. Just as funny as the first two, great music too.
Unfortunately that movie was very disappointing even though I did not had any expectations at all after the '#34;Minions'#34; movie disaster. I loved the first two movies but that movie actually bored myself. Way too many side stories, a lack of funny minions side kicks, etc.
This is a disappointing end to what started as a great franchise. Loved the first movie, the second was pretty good, but this one just wasn'#39;t very good at all. Too many random side stories, not enough action, and the villain was lame. That being said, my kids loved it. And while I get that it is aimed more for them, the first two were fun for the whole family and this one was lacking in that regard.
With stunning animation and stellar voice-over work, despicable me 3 is a worthy entry for this franchise. The story is full of heart, has a compelling villain and provides great laughs.
On the phone: Hollywood Exec: Oh, hi Steve, we are doing another Despicable Me, and as you'#39;re contractually obliged to voice Gru we expect to see you on Monday Steve: The thing is...well.. isn'#39;t this franchise getting stale now? Exec: Probably, who cares, the kids wanna see it so we are doing it. See you Monday. Steve: Not sure I can do this one... Exec: As I said - contract - obliged - you have no choice, sorry. But look at the bright side, be thankful you aren'#39;t voicing an Emoji. Steve: Hmm.. Exec: Monday! See you then. Think of the money. (hangs up) Steve: Sigh. At least it'#39;s not Dinner for Schmucks 2. (cries into his soup) Stale, pointless sequel. I feel sorry for Steve.
Ohhh yayyyyy they made another one, so I can hear minions on repeat in the kids room for the next 6 months
It'#39;s the fourth movie in the franchise and it'#39;s got to a point where they are just making them to bring in money from little kids parents. While it'#39;s good to hear the voices of Steve Carell and other cast members, it'#39;s just pointless and annoying. There is a reason they don'#39;t tell you a lot about the storyline. But kids love to watch '#34;Gru'#34; make stupid jokes so you can see they'#39;re even leading up to another installment. Overall, a decently funny movie ruined by a bad storyline and merchandise.
Not mind blowing how good it is. But the movie is still cute and fun. The Minions are funny but the directors are running out of ideas on how to use them. While the villain obsessed with the 80’s can be pretty annoying.
Fooled me once, despicable you. Fooled me three times, Despicable Me.

I want to start this review off by saying how impressed I am, every time I watch a Despicable Me/Minions movie, with the creativity that goes into the story and animations. I love that there are even jokes going on in the background. With these movies, the sky is the limit, and it shows. They come up with the most hilarious and creative things to make to storyline more fun. I really appreciate that in a movie. Having said that, I must be honest and say that this movie in not my favorite one in the franchise. It was more action filled and their target group is a bit older for this movie then it was for the ones before. Resolving into sometimes maybe a bit too cruel jokes.
(for example, in the beginning, the minions come by in a submarine of some sort but by doing so killing a fish. Doesn't sound that cruel or anything, I know, but you have to see it first, lol)
I love the minions, so if you ask me they could have had a bigger part in this movie. They make me laugh like a mad woman, to be honest #noshame. I loved the storyline where Lucy "learned" to be a mom and bonded with the three kids. Talking about the kids, Agnes, I can't, she is the cutest, seriously. It's a fun movie that you for sure should watch if you enjoyed the other Despicable Me's, I laughed and I enjoyed it, but in my opinion, it doesn't top the previous once.
"Despicable Me 3," directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, continues the story of Gru (Steve Carell) and his unconventional family. The plot begins with Gru and Lucy being kicked out of the Anti-Villain League (AVL) for a flimsy reason, introduced by an underdeveloped character, Valerie da Vinci. Gru then meets his long-lost brother Dru, while the Minions leave him to find new work and end up in jail. The new villain, Balthazar Bratt (Trey Parker), a former child star turned criminal, adds a fresh dynamic to the series. The film starts strong with Bratt's entertaining introduction, but quickly loses steam. The second act, set in Freedonia, is particularly slow and fails to maintain interest. The third act improves slightly but is only mediocre, and the ending doesn't leave a lasting impression. The subplot with the Minions feels tired, proving they are best in small doses. Character-wise, the old favorites like Gru and his family remain engaging, but the Minions' charm is wearing thin. Bratt is a standout as a villain, second only to Vector from the first film. However, Dru is a dull character and doesn't add much to the story. The voice acting remains a strong point, with Steve Carell delivering his usual solid performance and Trey Parker adding some flair. Nev Scharrel takes over as Agnes and does a seamless job. Dialogue has its moments, particularly the unicorn discussion and Bratt's lines, but overall, it's not as funny or clever as previous installments. Pacing is a major issue, especially in the second act, which drags significantly. Production values are high, with the typical quality animation expected from the series. However, the thematic elements and messages are becoming less clear with each sequel. Overall, "Despicable Me 3" offers limited emotional impact and rewatchability. While it has its moments, it doesn't reach the heights of the earlier films in the series.

Despite having state-of-the-art security, the world’s largest diamond is stolen from under the very noses of the anti-villain league and so that gets “Gru” and “Lucy” shown the door! They are not the giving up sort, though, and so set about planning to recover it from arch villain “Balthazar Bratt”. Touchingly, their daughter “Agnes” tries to help out by selling her toys but luckily before she has to start selling herself, “Gru” discovers that he has a long-lost twin brother - “Dru”. Thing is, it turns out that he’s even more villainous that “Balthazar” and is determined to recruit his brother into the ways of lucrative crime - and to steal the diamond from it’s previous pincher too! The story is a bit lightweight; is a bit of a confused mess at times and the mischievous minions don’t really feature enough to make too much difference to a plot that comes across more as a marketing exercise than a worthy sequel to the first, much quirkier and more entertaining film from almost seven years ago. A lively 1980s soundtrack chivvies it along and the youngsters will probably embrace the deftness of the slapstick scenarios - especially towards the end, but there’s not so much for the grown ups here and already this franchise is beginning to look like it has run it’s course.

A no-frills third installment of <em>'Despicable Me'</em>. I found the initial few scenes of <em>'Despicable Me 3'</em> to be solid, with a few chuckles chucked in there. However, from around minute 30 it loses all steam and ends up being a fine but uninspiring 90 minutes. The voice cast are alright, but the characters themselves aren't all that interesting. Steve Carell and Trey Parker are good, as is an underused Kristen Wiig. Jenny Slate's character seems forgotten, like I feel like it sets up something with Valerie Da Vinci early on but I don't even recall what happens to her here - a waste, as my first impressions were positive. The minions are fine, not as funny at this point but there's some minor amusement there still. I, also, didn't dig the addition of Gru's brother, fwiw. Pharrell Williams' music, meanwhile, feels overused and ever so slightly rehashed. Gone are the days of 'Happy' - but hey! Only two years until <em>'Despicable Me 4'</em>! Woo...
