There's a tonal clash here. The villain belongs to a B horror movie while the lead acts as if she's in an elevated horror movie. So it doesn't end up pleasing any type of fans of the genre. It has one of the laziest "monster" design I've seen lately and the ending being a shootout is lame.

You buy a book, you read it, you read it again and again but you can't understand anything, the poet or writer wrote in a language that very few people can understand, just like this movie. The plot is very complicated, the acting is bad. Also, my expectations were high. It's neither very good nor very bad, it's an average movie. If you don't watch it, nothing will be lost from your life. If you can't find a movie to watch, open this movie and watch it. Thank you for your efforts anyway.

"I need to take my sister away from this place." Worth watching just for Dan Stevens and his silly little accent. Hunter Schafer is pretty great too. Story leaves a lot of loose ends, but I really dug the vibes here. Love to see people shooting on film in 2024.
