:heart:x7 This is a pretty standard Disney movie. I enjoyed it. If you're looking for an enjoyable movie for the whole family, this should do it. It's interesting enough to keep (some) adults attention. How I rate: 1-3 :heart: = seriously! don't waste your time 4-6 :heart: = you may or may not enjoy this 7-8 :heart: = I expect you will like this too 9-10 :heart: = movies and TV shows I really love!

If there was a dead body instead of a crater and a narrator throughout the film, this could easily be a forward looking update on Stand By Me. Where it was written by someone like Heinlein writing science fiction for young people. It's solid, it's hopeful without being syrupy or cliche. Thankfully [spoiler]it does NOT take a dystopian turn at the end where we find out that Omega is an alien world where the residents e the people sent there.[/spoiler] There are things that go unexplained because they don't matter like [spoiler]the half built city, the strange holo-deck, etc. They're just settings for the story, and don't need to take up time. [/spoiler] Sadly, Disney seems to have decided to bury this one for unknown reasons, matey. Arrrrr... if only there be a way to see it.

Refreshingly short of silly hijinks. This is a thoughtful family movie that never speaks down to its target audience.

'Crater' works, I enjoyed it. It's nothing out of this world (...), though what Kyle Patrick Alvarez & Co. managed to create here does the job, in my eyes anyway. A decent plot is held together well by good acting, solid music and serviceable effects. There are naturally some issues, most notably the arguments between the characters are a bit forced/overly dramatic. Still, it comes together nicely and I found the ending to be rather sweet. A shame that Disney quickly removed this from their + service, seemingly through no fault of the film itself - it merits more eyes on it.
