It was hard for me to make an interpretation, and I think that's just more evidence of the movie's message. When you read the book its a bit more clear.

[spoiler]The core message is the real world n corporate world are cruel to neurodivergent people. The entire movie is shot from Orson perspective. That's why we don't get to hear exactly what the others are saying in hushed voices and why we barely get to see Orson staring at the wall, because he doesn't experience that. The shoe covers and 'we must always consider the floor' (but not during the Christmas party) is weird on purpose to show Orson doesn't understand social norms. The flickering light is real but in real life is surely a very minor flicker though Orson may experience it as a major issue. The cars are all the same and Orson cant identify his from the group because he has no interest in cars, every vehicle is just 'car'. Orson interest is the work. His strict working habits and the name 'The Authority' show how much respect he has for the work. Even so The Office treats him poorly when they realize he's different, then gives him special treatment and looks past it when they see what he's capable of because the world only cares about what you can produce, they don't care about YOUR well being. So much so that in the end they can't look past his oddity even though he does great work. His rant is dead on with respect to how much the company values its employees. The room is his mental safe place. The detail in the change of attitude, posture, gestures and confidence tells us how comfort he feels himself inside his own mind and not in the outside world.
