Overview
In 1990, SEGA, a fledgling arcade company assembled a team of misfits to take on the greatest video game company in the world, Nintendo. Decent documentary, but kind of lackluster compared to the source material (the book this documentary is based on). Skips past a lot of information about certain people (Trip Hawkins, Howard Philips) and just speeds past certain points of history without a conclusion (the establishment of the ESRB during the Mortal Kombat controversy). Definitely would've benefited from more length and depth.
Incredibly interesting. I always knew Nintendo and SEGA were rivals, but not to _that_ extent! Very well presented and laid out. A good watch. I’m now off to play some SNES!
