Thankfully non-exploitative account of the months leading up to the live on air suicide of Christine Chubbuck. A sad story, brought to life with a sensitive performance from Hall.

Unfortunately they tried to make a movie out of a real-life terrible event, but the story can't be stretched out into 123 minutes. It didn't feel very believable either (everything that happens before the incident seems to just be made up- which is just insulting to the woman this movie was made about). Don't waste your time- just read the wikipedia page.

Rebecca Hall is fantastic in this award-worthy performance. It's a haunting exploration of a person who is just desperate for connection and acceptance. It's a tragic tale that needed to be told.

A movie based on real events, telling the tragic story of reporter Christine Chubbuck, played with great intensity by Rebecca Hall. The script is straight to the point, focusing primarily on the protagonist in her quest for professional and personal achievements, her frustrations and problems. Despite being a movie with a simple structure, it manages to have a significant impact and leaves room for reflection on mental health, pressure and disillusionment.
