Mixed feelings at first and now with time I like it more. It was at times thought provoking and funny. It lacked the kind of progression I like in his movies, but it's fine. it looks great. Lots of subtle funny yet meaningful things, like with all the beautiful buildings surrounding the characters the main memory is of sheep. It's silly but realistic to how memory works. I didn't get why the distance between the characters grew so much (not until I later thought about it). It's a character based damaged rwkationship but also about Armenia, and the feeling of one persons connection. Some say the translator and driver had a relationship but to me that's expressed only within the photographers paranoia. I think the translator falls more for Armenia. Like Atom's character we sometimes feel like the outsider, disconnected and a stranger.

I liked the way the photographer looked back almost dreaming, as though life is just a story. The photographer sees beauty from the perspective of conventional art with light and angles etc, when the translator just feels it naturally. The photographer either lacks confidence or is in need of drama as he does things like time how long his partner has her back turned on him.
