Bring Down the Wall is a documentary that’s heavily rooted in music and stories told by a handful of diverse people living in the problematic US of A. Different people from all race, gender, and sexuality coming together as one big community to share their stories of mistreatment, while also celebrating their differences through partying and music.

I think that is what this documentary does so well and that’s a sense of community where all the weight is lifted off their shoulders and to finally breath freely.

After someone shares their story it will go into a music montage of them partying, but on different occasions they are performing the music live. It’s also a plus that the music itself is actually pretty good and really catchy, as after a few days since I have seen it, with certain beats and instrumental are stuck on repeat in mind. The stories themselves are interesting, and yet very devastating.

However, my main issue with the documentary is how repetitive it got after a while. The structure is basically: story, music, story, music, story, etc. So, a change of pace would have been refreshing. Because I think it gets too carried away and loses itself within the beat. Even through I liked the music played in the documentary, but I think it kind of overshadows everything else where unfortunately that’s the only thing I walked away with.

But still, if anything I said sounds interesting, putting aside issues, then check it out.
