This was recommended to me recently by a 96yr old Yorkshire miner who grew up in the town it was filmed in, as he had lived through that period of upheaval in the mines. Its set during the miners strike of the 80’s focusing on the colliery brass band but bringing in a lot of the social upheaval in the process. It's well worth a watch if you haven’t already seen it.
