It's kind of difficult to take a _"tough American hero kicks Vietnamese butt"_ and blend it with a _"lonely widower discovers after 10 years that his wife and child are alive and sets out to rescue them and save an orphanage in the process"_ and come up with a successful movie. This one doesn't. Don't waste your time on this smelly pile of fly-infested carp; it's lousy. Granted, there are a FEW more "fight scenes" with Chuck Norris in this one, but they're all so stilted and slow-moving that it barely keeps your interest. Aside from the few fight scenes
(by the way, Norris never goes one-on-one with the "bad guy" in this movie, just so you know...)
the movie is just completely goofy. Seriously, they tried to turn a "ex-POW returns to Vietnam" into some kind of Hallmark-channel family movie and it just fell all kinds of flat. There's ZERO connection with any of the characters and the ending scene was so incredibly cheesy that I felt like they should have handed out bottles of wine to pair with this stinker. At one time, I was a big Chuck Norris fan, but I've come to realize the guy couldn't act; they were just playing off of his tough-guy reputation and martial arts skill. This thing was maybe a half-notch above the original _Missing in Action_ movie, but that's not saying anything. If you find yourself perusing the "$1 DVD bargain bin" in a Dollar Tree store somewhere, and you run across this one...don't. Just save your $1 and buy a candy bar or something; you'll enjoy it more. This was rancid.
