Borderline

So many elements of a good movie is here. The idea, the actors, and the setting. The script is just kinda of a mess. So many odd choices and watching it felt as if it was made by a first time film director (it was). The filmmaking does have some style, some of the quick pans and jumbled timeline stuff with text work, some feels like a blatant rip off from better movies. *Cough the Call Me By Your Name moment. I really like Ryan Nicholson. He has a great prescribe and is fun to watch. I need him to not also be playing bad guys though! Samara Weaving, I feel like she’s past these types of movies. She’s great and would love to see her in bigger projects. This movie is so odd and characters don’t make common sense decisions throughout the entire movie, which is really distracting and takes you out the movie. I wish this better, but I’m afraid this is a bad movie.

Disjointed from start to finish, the movie has no way forward. The editing is disastrous, creating a confusing narrative with an irregular rhythm. The performances, full of exaggerations, don't help, and the attempts at humor end up being too embarrassing. The only highlight amidst this chaos is the good soundtrack, other than that, everything is frustrating.
