Other movie based on four elderly ladies and their "adventures" in Italy, which for Americans seems like what Japan is nowadays for Italians. The Superbowl film was however a lot more engaging and lively, this was extremely slow, not so funny, and sometimes ridiculous.

I appreciate what was attempted to be conveyed, but it was a lot of cliches thrown out by talented and capable actors. a feel good film that is both cheesy and entertaining. do not expect a lot out of it and you will avoid disappinments...

Other than in the beginning, where were the books? Other than some of the scenery, this movie wasn't even worth making. Low brow cheesy... everything else. Just a crapfest vanity project that funded their trip to Italy. Meanwhile, nothing in it for the viewer. Don't waste your time. It sucks.

This appears to be a good excuse for four actors, who seem to get on quite well together, to get someone to fund an all expenses paid trip to Italy to make a movie underpinned by the thinnest of plots.
