The mystery of this thriller lies in its tightly-knitted story, multiple mini shocks 'amp; well-packaged dialogues, thanks to the brilliance of Sujoy Ghosh. Abhishek Bachchan had two herculean tasks to become Bob Biswas, it was to get into a required physique and replace a talent like Saswata Chatterjee who played the OG in Kahaani (2012). And to everyone's surprise, he delivers big time. He is pitch-perfect for the role with a dynamic acting range. For fact, the film being a spin-off of a character from Kahaani to bring it to life after 9 years is not an easy effort, Director Diya Annapurna has done a brilliant job as director. The movie is a slow burn and rides on the mini shocks and exemplary performances during its course. The first kill in Bob Biswas is from where I got involved in the film, which carries a slow-fast pace throughout, as we dive deeper into the enigma that is Bob, a serial killer who has just woken up from an 8-year coma. Thanks to the persistent background score and Abhishek Bachchan's deadpan performance as the titular character, I breezed through this. Towards the end, I had to sit up and seek the media player backward to make sense of what was going on. That is the pace I was talking about. A great affair.
