So, _Blind_ is a slow indie drama. Simply put, this is about a women who has recently lost her sight, and the strain it is putting on her marriage.
That being said, the movie is very confusing. See, our lead, Ingrid, is a writer, and the movie jumps between reality, her fantasy, and the book she is writing. By the end, I thought I had a handle on what was going on, but honestly, I didn't understand. I think to fully appreciate _Blind_ I'd have to watch it more than once, and it was good enough that I would view it again. Trouble is, I don't speak Norwegian, so I have to focus on subtitles.
Onto the NC-17 rating: there is a fair amount of sex and nudity here, but nothing I would call overtly graphic, aside from a moment of a character, Einar, watching porn.
Like so many indie dramas, this is more about the mood it creates, and less about a concrete story. I am always looking for indie romance movies that have this emotional quality. So, I did like it, however, the enigmatic writing would keep me from rushing to see it again.
_Blind_ does drag in the first act, but soon picks up by the second act. If you enjoy sad, indie love stories, and don't mind nudity - which I did not mind seeing Ellen Dorrit Peterson naked - this is a good one.
