By Trakt's own system, I rate this movie "poor". So poor in fact that I had absolutely no recollection of it before rewatching it recently.

To its credit, I thought he movie did a fair job of representing cyber security and hacking, a challenging thing to get right. The real process is tedious, time consuming and unappealing on screen, so the representation offered here is a good compromise between reality and the ridiculous fast-paced NCIS style hacking we're often confronted with.

Chris Hemsworth plays an attractive, fit and athletic character who also happens to be a genius hacker. This man genius movie trope is almost always irritating for me and this is no exception. I didn't find myself attached to any of the characters and the love story didn't seem to serve any objective.

Although the story pacing sometimes felt off, it held my interest. I wish the movie had stayed focused on hacking
instead of devolving into a mission impossible action type ending
, which could have made it more satisfying overall.

I didn't have a bad time and if the topics seem interesting to you, it might not be bad watch as long as you go in with moderate expectations. I'm just not sure I'll remember this movie the next time I feel like watching something about hacking.
