Was a good film. Enjoyed it.

Especially how Shooter McGavin is in it.

An enjoyable movie. Brought back some great memories.
Looks like Eddie Murphy has hardly aged at all. 😃

Take the original 1984 movie, include the soundtrack from the first 2 films, add a healthy helping of 40 years along with bringing back every living character (they even resurrected the crappy blue Chevy Nova), mix in a few new ones and change the villain from a crooked art dealer to a crooked cop and you have exactly what this film became. Honestly, every one of the returning lead characters looked physically horrible (except for Serge) and well incapable of performing any extensive physical activity. The plot was predictable and offered nothing new. and the action sequences were basically big vehicles running into things. The film depends too much on nostalgia hoping to make it successful. It's on par with the 3rd movie, at best. Inspector Todd was turning over in his grave with this release. I might have given a higher rating if Crazy Frog made a cameo.

We’re no longer in the 80s when you can get away with this type of cheesy buddy cop movie with crappy dialogue that is so painfully not funny. Plot sucks, acting sucks, action sucks, I could go on…

For me, there were three things working against "Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F" beforehand. Firstly, the third installment of the franchise was pretty bad; secondly, it's a Netflix film; and thirdly, legacy sequels are never all that great. So I'm pleased to report that at least the first two points didn't come into play. Because "Axel F" is certainly better than the third movie and most Netflix in-house productions.

However, it's also pretty much exactly what you would expect from a legacy sequel. Old gags are rehashed, the crime plot has been seen a thousand times before somewhere else, and the family story about Axel and his daughter is also pretty generic. I also doubt whether any of the action will stick with me in the long run.

But at least Eddie Murphy still works. I would also say that he has aged the best of all the returning cast members, and he slips effortlessly back into his signature role. Accordingly, the movie was at least able to elicit a few smiles from me, and I was never bored. And I believe that was the best we could hope for 30 years after the last film.

The movie bored me at one point. I also watched the movie. I'm definitely not saying it's bad, but the action scenes felt short and cheap to me. It's like they did it with the idea of 'let's shoot it right away'. The movie is watched in your absence.

Mixed feelings about this one having watched all the previous ones. Not so funny, but we had some laughs. I hate to say that when actors get old and they have already done a bunch of franchised films, the last film feels weird.

They probably got everything just about right, but what happened to the Axel Foley laugh??..
How can you leave that out!
Very disappointed, in what was otherwise a pretty enjoyable film..

Genuinely enjoyed the movie, the cool flavor of the 80s and 90s with the right kind of update to it, and got to love Eddie Murphy in the movie, its like its the 1980s all over again. Cool characters with a familiar story, I remember seeing the original movies when I was a kid on VHS and the actor line up are really solid.

Seeing Eddie Murphy in this movie bumped it up for me, but the music, I loved the music. Made me wanna dance every time it came on. This is one of things that I loved about those movies they always had a catchy background music that you will always associate with the movie.

If your a fan of those movies you will love this one and even if you haven't watched the originals this will be fun.

They play on nostalgia and it works in a way. But the rest is lack of Axel's specialties - his laughter, his tricks, his funny moves. It's kinda ok, but not as fun. At one point Axel was going to do his thing at the hotel, but then said - ah, hell with it, I'm too tired. That kinda sums up the whole movie.
