Overview
Bad Boy Bubby is just that: a bad boy. So bad, in fact, that his mother has kept him locked in their house for his entire thirty years, convincing him that the air outside is poisonous. After a visit from his estranged father, circumstances force Bubby into the waiting world, a place which is just as unusual to him as he is to the world.

I didn'#39;t know what to expect after a few minutes. You can feel the guys pain. It'#39;s was definitely dark and well shot but I was worried it would be a pretentious piece of shock garbage. It wasn'#39;t. This film is about so many things. Being human. Human nature. Group mentalities. Selfishness. Value. Physical and emotional pain. Life experience. Cruelty. Kindness.... It'#39;s all layed on thick and simple but effectively. The movie makes you feel sad but can make you laugh in the journey. The journey itself is almost farcical but each situation shows you just how people interactive with bubby and how hubby interacts with them. It evolves like watching a baby learn. The ending was great. It showed that all the pain in the movie wasn'#39;t overkill and for just shock but it in fact enhanced the ending and raised the emotional impact. Definitely something different and challenging but not for everyone.
Okay i've seen some dark movies but this movie was something else. I was so disturbed by the cat, the mother, the sex scenes, the gas mask, I just can't even explain it was so messed up. I don't recommend watching it unless you have an incredibly strong stomach. For some reason it just disturbed the hell out of me.
.Please please hang on through the first 20 minutes. This movie is to Forrest Gump what Vegas is to Disneyland. Dont watch this with your kids, but watch it. I mean it.
What a ride! As noted in the other shouts on here, it isn'#39;t the movie it appears to be at first, for sure. Starts off super-weird and a bit uncomfortable, then it stays super-weird but goes all these other directions. Funny, tragic, philosophical... it'#39;s a very unique flick for sure.
Get to have fun with a killer moron with personality.

We see the world through the eyes of a childlike man who has been imprisoned in a squalid house since birth, ignorant of and terrified by stories of the outside and completely reliant on his mother, who beats and makes love to him. We see him forced into the outside world by the return of his parasitic and presumably itinerant father, who wants his place in the home again. This childlike man, Bubby, realises that the outside world is not what he was made to believe it is and so begins his voyage of discovery. Through Bubby's eyes we can see a (slightly crazy) city from a naive perspective and it is this sense of wonder and discovery that defines the film. Bubby is not a clean slate, though. His past is extremely messed up and this is never forgotten in his characterisation. So he gets frustrated and angry as well as joyous and excited. The acting is phenomenal, it really is. This ain't Forest Gump, not to knock that film but this is next level documtary footage tier. There's not much of a plot other than Bubby goes from A to Z via every stop along the way. He finds love and learns that it is all. There are a couple of incredibly touching scenes that are genuinely beautiful and, as far as I can tell, not acted. It's a very philosophical film and explicitly encourages an open and critical mind in several scenes, An incredible masterpiece in my eyes, with many unforgettable scenes and several that you will not have seen the likeness of before.
