Dr. Malcolm Sayer, a shy research physician, uses an experimental drug to "awaken" the catatonic victims of a rare disease. Leonard is the first patient to receive the controversial treatment. His awakening, filled with awe and enthusiasm, proves a rebirth for Sayer too, as the exuberant patient reveals life's simple but unutterably sweet pleasures to the introverted doctor.

Magnificent film based on a true story with a spectacular main cast and it was even better the second time around and Robert De Niro &robin Williams made a great team!

Robert De Niro gives a terrific performance here and Robin Williams is pretty great too. The story takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions.

great movie and some amazing acting by Robert De Niro. But, I would advise stop before the last 30 minutes... the movie hits a lovely cinema like peak... but you must remember that this is a true story and it ends with a deary ending

One of the maxims I maintain in my film viewing of "stories based on true events" is that, if I don't know the story, I don't research it until after the viewing.
