[Americana FF'22] A fuzzy portrait of urban culture that doesn't always make the connection between skateboarding and hip hop. It's an unstructured film, whose narration is confused and out of context, which conveys more sensations than clarity. The success of "Kids" (1995) popularized and marketed the NY urban culture, but also its sexist representation, although at least Rosario Dawson provides the female voice.

This never really rises above the “Oh look at that famous person back then!” with a healthy dose of “ONLY IN NEW YORK!”. It’s still fairly entertaining on that level but I don’t feel it gives proper due to some of the people like Harold Hunter that are featured a lot as it devolves into a commercial.
