_Alles ist gut_ (_All Good_) is that depressed friend who plops down on your sofa and talks about how inconsolable they are because of all the bad decisions they've made and when you try to help them feel better they tell you there's nothing anyone can do. Lead actress Aenne Schwarz turns in a flawless performance as a date rape victim who wants to forget what she underwent (the French title of the film translates into 'Like It Didn't Happen'), and her performance dovetails nicely with the directorial style: This poignant film that first time director Eva Trobisch drops in our lap is so heavy that we're trapped by its weightiness and are forced to endure rather than react to.
