It'#39;s an okay anthology, but it has a cool concept to tie the stories together. Unfortunately, it lacks bite in a lot of spots and suffers from weak acting (except the main girl, she'#39;s really good). what stands out most though is that damn clown! Great design. He'#39;s creepy and memorable.
Okay, this was made for next to nothing. Yes, the killer clown thing is getting played out. However, I prefer this to the '#34;Terrifier'#34; movie the same folks made a year or two later. Why? Well, it is an anthology and the first story is just plain terrible. The second is an improvement despite no '#34;Art the Clown'#34; tie-in to speak of, but the third is pretty darn creepy. Then the switch over to the framing story is literally chilling. I would say you could probably start watching 45 minutes in and still figure out what is going on and have some fun. 7/10
This was crazier than I expected, I really expected a lot of gore, but this was disturbing and it feels it was intentionally created to be really disturbing real quick, like, splash all the disturbing stuff you can imagine in the same short. I liked it somehow, but I sleept bad that night 😅 One last note, the demon lead on the pipes subway, I think that's Art without the makeup, you can see the same prosthetics used there, so... That could be an origin story, but I don't know. Would need to watch all the others first...
Wow...just soooo bad. This film was like 3 mini films all in one, each as bad as the next, the acting was terrible!
The short original to this one is just trash and doesn’t even fit the theming of the rest- even the director has called it filler. The alien design is laughable. The framing device starts weak- the shirts themselves are just inserted here so they don’t play with the VHS format any- but picks up a little at the end. The pushing at the screen and reflecting the room but with him in it while the ‘real’ world he’s nowhere to be seen are nice ideas that show Leone has potential, much like Art. That potential isn’t fulfilled in these shorts- we’ll see if it is in the full length films.
fell asleep if that means anything to you lol.
Good movie, but who suggests pumpkin carving the day of Halloween after trick or treating an hour before midnight?
All Hallows Eve is a bottom shelf B horror film - and that should be understood going in. The only legitimate draw here is for fans of Art the Clown to experience his low-budget beginnings. But, despite all its deficiencies, I don't regret giving it 90 minutes.
ooooof. made it 41 minutes before i had to bail. i think ill stick w the terrifiers
An okay movie, definitely has some moments with just bad acting all together but for an anthology to the Terrifier franchise I thought it was rather decent, would I watch it again? Perhaps. not everyone's cup of tea but worth a try for any horror fans
With all the hype around the third Terrifier movie, I felt like watching the previous ones, including this first one that seems to kick off the saga. Honestly, it's pretty bad. It’s poorly made in every way, and even Art's makeup is disappointing—I’ve seen costumes of the character this year that look way better. I ended up falling asleep, partly from being tired, but mostly because it's just so boring.
Story: 1 - 4 2 - 5 3 - 6.5 The tie in story was good and gets a 6.
Very good movie. Terrorific and gore. It'#39;s a perfect slasher.
From the category of it'#39;s so bad it'#39;s.... still bad! come'#39;s this disasterpiece.
**Overarching Story**â €6/10 On Halloween night babysitter Sarah and children Tia and Timmy watch 3 VHS tapes, each featuring a Tale of horror. Some nice gore towards the end and Art was great. **First Tale**â €5/10 Art the clown drugs and kidnapps a woman. She wakes up in a dark room with two other women. It was ok some really nice practical effects and gore. The music was perfect. The humanoid mutant was the best part. **Second Tale**â €2/10 Something bright crashes near Caroline's house. The alien made me think of Abe Sapien (*Hellboy*) so not very scary. It was laughable and bland. Final shot was creepy. **Third Tale**â €7/10 Art the Clown goes on a rampage. The best segment for sure! The blood, the gore, the music and the use of grain makes it stand out. I prefer this to the 2016 movie. Perfect way to end it too.
Bundling up a couple of his short stories with a third short story and sewing it all together with the main narrative seems like a lazy way to make one's first feature film, but that is exactly what Damien Leone has done.
**Laughably bad. Just watch _Terrifier_.**

Well, it was different...and that's about the best thing that can be said for it. I watched _All Hallow's Eve_ simply for the sake of seeing the origin of "Art the Clown", as he is one of my favorite horror movie villains of all time. He was almost as good here as in the _Terrifier_ movies but the rest of the story and the supporting cast...YUCK. What an incredibly lame performance all the way around. It was so bad in places that I literally wondered (and still do?) if it was _intended_ to be this terrible. Such exaggerated, over-the-top acting, super weak stories, incredibly lame dialogue, and aliens that looked like they came straight from a 1950's _Outer Limits_ TV show. Seriously, it was that bad. These were "short stories" wrapped up in a main story of a babysitter on Halloween, and even the "main story" was just awful...the acting, the hyper-dramatized "terror", there was just very little watch-worthy here. I _will_ say, though, that with a runtime of only 83 minutes -and 7½ of that beginning/ending credits (and there are no "easter eggs" or surprises in the ending credits, btw) - this was easy enough to sit through at just a little over an hour. So if you want to give it a try, it's not a long film, but just very poorly executed. So poorly, in fact, that it may leave you wondering if it was done on purpose.
