Dark funny and hilarious at times. If it this was made in the overly sensitive America of today; it would be controversial lol.

@jim222001 maybe one scene would be, this is ultimately a pretty progressive film and a cult classic in queer circles in particular...I can't tell if y'all are dishonest when you say this kinda stuff or genuinely can't tell the difference between people not taking overt racism, sexism and homophobia anymore and people being on some crusade against comedy.

@jygglypuffdaddy I suspect a bit of both but perhaps mainly the latter, sadly.

@jygglypuffdaddy I meant the dark humor. “My parents had sex.”

>Wednesday: "All your life."

_Wednesday_ Season 2 really needs writing like this. So far it's just been an imitation.

One of my highest rated movies, not only is Adams Family a classic but it was right on time. The new cartoon version that was released has nothing on these classical movies, My favorite part is when they are naming all the good things the baby will become and they were acting like it was the worst case scenarios hahaha.

The strange and bizarre antics of the Addams Family continue in the off-the-wall sequel Addams Family Values. The story follows a black widow who poses as the Addams’ new nanny and attempts to seduce Fester; meanwhile Wednesday and Pugsley are sent off to summer camp. Unfortunately, the comedy isn’t as edgy and morose as the first film. And, the cast give rather underwhelming performances; except for Christina Ricci, who really steps up and carries the film. In fact, it’s the B-story that delivers most of the laughs as Wednesday gets into a rivalry with one of her fellow camp mates and rebels against her counsels. Though it’s not as good as the original, Addams Family Values is still hilariously entertaining.

This was much better than the first one. Joan Cusack is great as is the rest of the returning cast.

"Addams Family Values" is an improvement over the first film. The predecessor's strengths remain, while the flaws are less noticeable. Above all, the cast remains excellent, with Joan Cusack a welcome addition. Furthermore, Christina Ricci's Wednesday is given more to do as part of a summer camp storyline, which works brilliantly. Only Christopher Lloyd's performance as Fester didn't work for me once again. Meanwhile, the plot is the most significant improvement over the first installment. This time, there is no boredom. Almost every character is given a meaningful task, and their problems are clearly defined. The humor is also much more effective. It's a pity that the film series ended with this second installment.
