Kristin Chenoweth and Scott Wolf star in the Hallmark holiday film _A Christmas Love Story_. When a choir teacher attempts to recruit a young boy with a talented voice to join her Christmas choir, she most first convince his father, who’s trying to keep his son on track to an Ivy League college. Chenoweth and Wolf both give solid performances and are charming together. The plot, of course, is predictable and the romance is rather effortless (lacking any real conflict), but there is kind of a nice twist at the end. And there are some touching dramatic Christmassy moments that are rather heartwarming. _A Christmas Love Story_ is a pretty by-the-numbers Hallmark film, but it’s well-made and celebrates the spirit of the season.

This is my 2nd of 3 attempts to find a Christmas movie I like this year. The draw was Kristin Chenoweth's great voice and it was a sweetener that Scott Wolf was co-starring (I was a fan of PARTY OF FIVE) but I can't give this a passing grade. The writing was bad, with the exception of Wolf, the acting was disappointing and the romance was unconvincing. There are two highlights, the unexpected under-plot and the duet at the end is spectacular. I give this film a 4 (poor) out of 10. [Christmas Romance]
