This is another movie that seems to have gotten a polarized response from viewers. If people watched it because they knew Idris Alba from Hollywood movies, by and large they were disappointed with the pace of the storytelling and the unsensational characters. But this is a drama, telling stories that are slices of lives that are very different from one another, yet hold one thing in common - London. These are London stories. The cast may not be familiar to North America audiences but those who love UK theatre, movies and TV, Idris Alba, Gemma Arterton, Tom Cullen, Ken Stott will raise the expectation of fine performances, which I feel was met. Frank Drameh, who was a bright light in this, looked familiar to me, but I couln't quite place him, until I read his filmography and saw that he played Firestorm in LEGENDS OF TOMORROW (not exactly the same kettle of fish, at all, in terms of genres, but, after seeing this, I look forward to following his work). So, I think this had fine performances, nuanced characters and was a bit of a love story for those who love London, warts and all. I give this film a 7 (a solid good) out of 10. [Drama]
