[Movistar+] Masterfully combines drama with comedy, offering a cynical version of traditional medical series. There is no romance or beauty in a bloodied woman giving birth, assisted by a resident doctor exhausted by endless hours of work. Ben Whishaw's touch of irony is spot on, and the criticism of an overwhelmed public health system is merciless. But it's easy to share laughter and tears with these characters.

The season 1 finale was a little underwhelming, so not perfect, but definitely the best medical drama since House.

Brilliantly written, directed and acted.
Ben Whishaw and Ambika Mod are astounding.

The series gives you a knot in the stomach at seeing the hospital staff stress and working conditions, but it's also full of empathy and signs of humanity. Humour and breaking the 4th wall give it its final unique touch.
Remarkable 7 episodes, truly positive discovery

This is Going to Hurt is a Buffy spin-off centered on the life of an obstetrician who works in public health. I mean, it's not really a Buffy spin-off but it kinda is: everyboyd always has got a pointy answer to everything, all characters are in a constant battle for who's more sarcastic, the show tackles hard themes in an effortless way, there's a constant silly vibe that makes all the thematic heavyness quite tolerable, characters and actors are all irresistible, when it wants to punch you in the guts it's devastating and the main character's mother is a vampire.

I'm reading the book as I'm watching the series. It's a brilliantly written show and wonderfully acted. It's also a massive eye opener into the health system. Oddly I'm kind of glad I don't have children!

A fantastic miniseries. Minus the poor man Fleabag wall breaking, I loved everything about this show! If you're someone who works somewhere with demanding clients and customers, you can relate to this series about an England doctor trying to find some tiny glimmer of happiness or value in bringing lives to this planet. Ben Whishaw is amazing here and I do hope he gets some Emmy love next Summer/Fall (he got a Critic's Choice nomination so it's looking good so far). I know its based on a nonfiction novel by the real Adam Kay, but I wished they had developed it as an ongoing series rather than a limited one, I could've watched this show for years! It can get depressing but the characters were so damn likable!

An emotionally devastating look at one mans experience as a doctor in the NHS. Gripping and emotional. One of the best shows of the year.
