If they would have trimmed down the beginning 'til about when Noa meets Raka, this movie would have been much better as a whole. But the middle to end of the movie is great set up for future films, it really gives you a lot to chew on.

This film’s predecessor, _War for the Planet of the Apes_, was a very unambiguous conclusion to the saga.
Caesar’s martyrdom would usher in a new era for apes as mankind succumbed to the neurodegenerative effects of the virus.
However, money talks in Hollywood, and it seems that an attempt at a blockbuster sequel was made anyway.

There’s certainly something to love here if you’re willing to overlook the shallow motivations of the characters and the boiler plate narrative structure. Our new simian cast and the landscapes they occupy have never looked this incredible and it is clear the special effects team did their part. Owen Teague and Peter Macon also voice their parts to great effect. However, once the glamour fades and the brain starts asking the most basic of questions, the disenchantment is swift and the frustration inconsolable.

Quite a disappointing follow up to a great trilogy. I’m sure the actors and sfx team put their work in but it doesn’t save this film. The plot felt flat, the pacing uneven which led to a relatively bland and lengthy viewing experience. Maybe the next film will help redeem the series but I for one won’t be chomping at the bit for it.

When most other Filmseries have their low Point since Part 4, Planet of The Apes start once again on almost top Level!
A new Protagonist after Caesars Era will lead the Apes to the next Human Contact (out of Space). The Icarus Mars Mission ist coming back to Earth, thats for sure!
Hell good Sequel!!!!

It’s nice that this movie at least continues the Caesar story. I doubt the new Alien film will continue the story of David.
The movie is about Noe (Owen Teague) who is taught the true ways of Caeser by Raka (Peter Macon). So when Noe is taken and forced to worship Proximus Caeser (Kevin Durand). Who twists Caesar’s words. For his own gain.
Noe sees through Proximus and just wants to rescue his tribe from Proximus. With help of a human he barely trusts. However Noe tries to trust Nova (Freya) Allen since Caeser once trusted humans.
The film isn’t better than the three previous ones. It is much than the sequels to the original movie. As well as better than the Mark Wahlberg film. It can be slow but when there’s action it is well done and exciting.

A decent but kind of unnecessary movie; it feels like it only exists to set up the next one. For one that focuses on ape vs ape with few humans in the script, there was surprisingly less action than in the previous films.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is good enough to hold your attention. I just wish this franchise would develop a story more interesting than intelligent apes and dumb humans. There is so much here to explore, but they chose the safe path and mentally stimulated no one.

Totally unnecessary 4th film in this saga, but still an entertaining watch with great CGI and action scenes despite the plot essentially back tracking and not progressing forward the storyline. Basically its just a tribute to the original main character, Caesar, and reiterating what he stood for and re-creating it as it follows a group of apes hundreds on years later whose village gets taken by another group of apes who have falsified what Caesar's founding was, and the incarcerated apes have to found a way home to rebuild and along the way get help from unlikely foes who bring back the true meaning of the founding of it all. The character development was very good and so is the evolution of the film with the lengthy screen time, so it makes for a decent watch.

I never liked the previous trilogy. I haven't completed watching part 2, and I've never seen part 3. But this one's really good and got me hooked from start to finish.

A clear step down from the previous trilogy but I still was throughly entertained for the 2,5 hours. The main apes just don't really have the same charisma as the OG ones.
