By no means a heart-wrenching or particularly memorable film, though it isn't exactly trying to be. Shia Labeouf, Josh Duhamel, and Julie White stand out from the cast as likeable characters worthy of at least some attention.

One of the most atrocious aspects of the movie is the casting of Meghan Fox. She has a very limited range of facial expressions and often looks to be as dumb as a post - her mouth is open for most of the movie and she comes off as being there just to appeal to male viewers - which is creepy, considering her character's age. Ironically, Meghan's character is the only character in the film to undergo any sort of character development. Even then, most of said development cannot be truly called "development" as it simply consists of different attributes of her pre-existing personality being revealed to the audience via clunky, unnecessary exposition.

Stuff blows up, things transform, and cars go vroom. There's some questionable explanations holding it together and a forgettable "grab the the thing before the bad guy can get to it" type plot, but other than that, it's mostly machines fighting each other or teenagers interacting. Some lame, laughably bad computer hacking takes place as well. Ultimately, this movie is stretched far too thin, has too many characters, and has little to no heart. The transformations themselves range from nonsensical to impressive. Go watch Bumblebee instead.
