An obese lawyer finds himself growing "Thinner" when an old gypsy man places a hex on him. Now the lawyer must call upon his friends in organized crime to help him persuade the gypsy to lift the curse. Time is running out for the desperate lawyer as he draws closer to his own death, and grows ever thinner.

Sure, the whole Gypsy curse thing is a little much for people to swallow these days, but as hokey as it is, this a pretty fun little Stephen King thriller. It's making me want some pie.

It wasn't what I thought it was going to be. It's silly but too mean spirited to have any fun. This one at its core is a film about gluttony and privilege, but the plot is really thin that it feels like watching a horror anthology episode stretched beyond its limit. It consists mostly of unlikable characters, the direction is relatively flat, the special effects and makeup are good for the most part, but I was expecting much crazier body horror moments and its gruesome details. Even the poster on LB and the artwork on Hulu are scarier than the actual film.

The film adaptation was better than the book. The story starts well, but is totally lost in the end ...
