Quite creepy but not a great movie. Quite annoying with Amber Heard's character which was pointless and always with her bikini or underwear most of the time.

Fuck off. Yikes. Penn Badgley in this is definitely just a prequel to 'You'. Why did I finish this?! Had to cleanse myself afterwards.

On its own, the 2009 remake of “The Stepfather” is a generic but perfectly adequate B-horror film. However, it is also totally superfluous if you know the original, which tells the story much better. Furthermore, the premise of a killer constantly changing his identity without any digital footprint was already somewhat implausible in 2009. Creeping into a new family without a single photo being taken of oneself is, of course, nonsense. However, the cast isn't bad overall. At least most of the actors were familiar to me, and Dylan Walsh does a solid job as the murderous stepfather. But the movie could have been a bit bloodier to stand out from the crowd. There's not much that will stick with me at the end.
