I recall the most stunning thing about "The Sixth Sense" was a remarkable twist. This particular twist really shocked a lot of moviegoers. It was a surprise that thrilled and remains the most talked about element of "The Sixth Sense". It was amazing at the time, how well guarded this twist was. The vast majority of those who saw the film kept it a secret, not spoiling it for others who had not yet watched. The film ended up having a huge, Cinderella-style run at the box-office.

I'm a huge fan of the "Twilight Zone". I appreciate more than most the art of the "twist". The surprise. That "holy S**t!!" moment it gives you. That moment is captured within the run time of "The Sixth Sense". In fact, not just once, but at least twice.

There is also some fine acting by Haley Joel Osment and Bruce Willis. Osment in particular does an amazing job, relaying so much emotion through his facial expressions and gestures. Willis is a low-key wonder, also. It's great to see him play a non-action film character like this.

The only drawback of "The Sixth Sense" is struggling with how Bruce Willis's character Malcolm keeps showing up at exactly the right place at the right time.

Most movie fans will tell you that this is the much-maligned M. Night Shyamalan's best film. It's really hard to argue that belief because "The Sixth Sense" is so good. I really appreciate all of his first three movies which include "Unbreakable" and "Signs". All of them employ terrific moments of quiet emotion and build up the characters, endearing them to the viewer.
