Great little film all around. Acting is top notch, characters are great, super funny at times. Could be a Cohen Brothers movie. If you like dark humor and a bit of crassness you’ll be like a pig in… I’ve watched it there times and plan on watching it many more.

Abrasive complex characters, with good banter between the leads, as well as good banter between the antagonists. Interesting themes of nihilism.

Love me some philosophical gangsters. Very curious what it must've been like growing up in the McDonagh household.

"He was a—what, uh, what d'you call it?"
"Uh, paraplegic?"
"Spastic, yeah."

"Maybe this is the killers five and a halfth victim."
"Go on."
"Maybe he's killed four people before now, and he's maimed another lad. Cut off his legs, maybe. Which would be the half. So this would be victim number five and a half."

"Ah, man, that was fuckin' years ago. I mean, I thought that had all been forgotten about. Same thing happened to Polanski."
"What was it, a sheep or something?"
"It was a llama. You know, I didn't even know it was illegal to interfere with a llama, did you?"
"I would have assumed so, Billy. I mean, what would its parents think?"

Some other great lines:
"I'm Irish, sir! Racism is part of my culture."
"I like sharks. They're soothing."
"I've always wanted a giraffe."
"I'm on tablets, like, for distress. Lithium."
"They're always fuckin' overestimating!"

Fun movie. Didn't expect so much meta crime movie stuff but it was great. Gotta admit though I didn't understand 50% of the words spoken in this thing. The accents man oh man the accents. That's all my fault though.

Different enough with some funny dialogue. The ending was good too.

How the hell did this film get such high ratings? (IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes) Seriously it's not even that funny.

Every once in a while Brendan Gleeson looked like Benny Hill.

A fun companion piece to _In Bruges_, though clearly less inspired. It leans so hard on the elements it’s borrowing from American genre films that the film quickly becomes predictable. Still, the visually striking cinematography and Irish wit manage to breathe some life into these tropes. Brendan Gleeson is excellent (almost playing the exact opposite of his character from _In Bruges_), Don Cheadle is serviceable because I don’t entirely buy him as this upper class, posh kind of guy. Their chemistry is pretty decent, though the film could’ve used more scenes of the two of them interacting. I also don’t quite get the choice to go with a villain team when a single antagonist would’ve sufficed (and probably would’ve been more defined). I don’t want to sound too negative, because this is a good black comedy, but it just feels like a lesser Martin McDonagh film. Then I figured out it was in fact his older brother who wrote and directed this.

6.5/10

If you like In Bruges, then this movie is for you. Brendan Gleeson is brilliant and I love the raw and quirky interaction between him and Don Cheadle. I guess the word I am looking for to describe this film is refreshing.

Excellent film that has very dry humour.
Probably won't resonate very well with American audiences but it is extremely funny.
The racist comments and slurs seem to be very indicative of the area and the culture that the film is c entered around.

Really wanted to enjoy this one...Boyle and Don was enough to make me want to see this movie... there´s some good and hilarious moments between the two but that was it, the plot itself didn't grab my attention; didn't love up to both of the actors IMO. 6/10
