Goosebumps is joyfully spooky family fun, with its clever plot, creative monster special effects and animation, and a humorously over the top performance by Jack Black as R.L. Stine.

Better than I had anticipated, and while not without flaws, it's fun enough to not be cursing life for taking your children to go see it. It's definitely Jack Blacks best role in ages.

Goosebumps is a fun family film for Halloween that reminds me of the sort of films that used to be released in the 90's.

A fun film! Remindes me of a childhood favorite "Jumanji". Good to see Jack Black again, he fits the character well. And doesn't "Hannah" resemblance Mila Kunis when younger...?

Though not really as creepy as the books or the original series, it was a nice homage to several books and the author himself, and that was great. Stine's appearance as "Mr. Black" by the end was great, and I'm surprised to find that I enjoyed Black playing Stine a lot, even if I feel like he could have been more creepy and less goofy.

I love Goosebumps. I read the books when I was a kid. I watched the television show. I love this movie.
_Goosebumps_ is a magnificent example of what a kids/family film can be, when writers care. You can tell everyone involved here wanted to make a great movie that would entertain anyone, from kids to adults.
Instead of taking the easy route, and simply adapting one of the many R.L. Stein books, we get a story that kind of gives us all of them.
A large part of what makes _Goosebumps_ work is the cast: our teens are funny without being annoying. Our adults are goofy, while being endearing. And Jack Black is, well, Jack Black; he's definitely in a lower gear than normal.
The movie has a lot of heart, laughs, kid-friendly scares, and great visual effects. Not to mention a score by Danny Elfman.
Really a perfect movie to watch during October. I can totally see this becoming a classic that is passed down for generations to come.

I was never a Goosebumps fan. Never read the books, but I did watch a couple episodes of the TV show. So based on that knowledge, this movie wasn't anything spectacular or noteworthy, but I find it enjoyable.

It fits very well with the festive season of Halloween.

Very basic story without more pretension than to entertain, something that barely gets.
